Nature Tapes Test 004

This was a commission for Drekles. He wanted the cover of the Lemon Demon album Nature Tapes but with a girl. The album art is Neil Cicierga's wearing a costume witches nose floating in nothing with the color changed. The digital version of the album I own had particularly bitcrushed album art so I couldn't see it clearly and I think that helped. This was my first earnest recent attempt at digital painting. I didn't do any layout and just kind of went for it. I had mostly quit drawing for a long time but was taking commissions at the time to earn money. I can't remember if this was to earn money to see the girl I was dating in Germany at the time or if I just needed money in general. Luckily I started drawing more in earnest after this because I felt it went so well despite me not planning much. It was also my first time using Krita. The final version mainly had some color adjustments to make the hair more visible. I need to upload that too.
